BSMS - Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery

The BSMS full form is Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery and it is a five-year bachelors degree for the students interested in Siddha Medicine. BSMS, meaning the medicinal practices in the ancient Siddha medicine, is used to treat patients with an alternative source of medicines. The students are admitted through the common entrance exam NEET and this course extends up to 4.5 years of college education and concedes after a year of internship. The BSMS syllabus is directed to offer supreme knowledge on the medical practices followed by the ancient people. BSMS Course Eligibility:

The student should have successfully completed their 10+2 final exams in any school under a recognized board of education with the considerable mark and should have studied Physics, Chemistry and Biology as compulsory subjects. It is also essential for the candidates to have completed their higher secondary (HSC) final examination in a single attempt.  

The candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) with an acceptable score out of 720. Since the NEET examinations also have negative mark allocations for wrong answers, the candidates might get a score from 180 to 720. 

This examination is conducted by the Indian Council of Medicine which contains 90 questions from Biology, 45 questions from Physics and another 45 questions from Chemistry summing up the total number of questions to 180. Every correct answer receives a score of 4 marks whereas one wrong answer results in one negative mark. The total negative mark gets deduced from the total marks obtained from the positive answers.
