BSc Respiratory Therapy (Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Therapy)
Respiratory Therapy involves the evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management and care of patients with breathing, cardiopulmonary and associated diseases. Guidance is given in performing diagnostic tests, physical examination and patient management. Candidates are trained to assist and support patients to maintain stable cardiopulmonary health. Practical exposure is provided in giving patient medication, monitoring equipment, performing diagnosis and assisting with rehabilitation of patients. The course also advances into expanding the candidate’s role in disease prevention, case management, early detection of pulmonary disorders and emergency care.
