What is a 'Bachelor Of Science in Perfusion Technology'?

BSc in perfusion technology is a three-year undergraduate course that deals with the diagnosis,
management, treatment, pathology, and associated pieces of equipment used during cardiac

Cardiac perfusion technologists are allied medical professionals who are trained to work with
cardiologists during cardiac surgeries and other medical procedures. They are highly skilled and
trained to operate equipment and machinery that are required to carry out such operations.
These types of machinery are usually used to artificially support the heart, lungs, and other
internal organs during operations.
In this degree course, you will be theoretically and practically trained to operate such equipment
and thus manage several cardiac diseases and disorders. During this course, the students will
be instilled with the knowledge of physiology, pathology, and treatment of cardiac diseases.

Eligibility for Bachelor of Science in Perfusion Technology

To be eligible for this undergraduate course, the student must have passed 10+2 from any
recognized board. During +2, the main subjects studied have to be biology, chemistry, and
physics.
The student must have scored not less than 50% marks in each of the above-mentioned core
subjects as well as should have more than 50% as his/her aggregate marks in +2. The cut-off
mark may differ according to each college and university.
There might be a separate entrance exam or screening test conducted for the selection purpose
